Engine Strike teams on Hwy 14 on Buckweed Fire

On October 21, 2007, at 8:21 p.m., The Buckweed fire started on W. Mint Canyon Rd. in Agua Dulce, and would burn for the next 8 days. Total loss was 38,356 acres, 21 single-family homes, 42 outbuildings, with 15 homes & 14 outbuildings damaged. Estimated suppression cost was $7.5 million dollars. 1,157 firefighters were assigned to control this fire. The Buckweed fire was one of 10 fires that burned in LA County during the months of Oct. and Nov. 2007, burning over 108,768 acres, with over 200 structures lost or damaged.
