SaveStation Installed at Kincaid Nordic Stadium
Please join the Anchorage Fire Department for a ribbon cutting ceremony of the first SaveStation in our community!
When: November 4, 2026
Time: 10:30am – 11:30am
Location: Nordic Stadium, Kincaid Park
Mayor Suzanne LaFrance and representatives from the Anchorage Fire Department, PulsePoint, ZOLL Medical, and SaveStation will present the new outdoor AED SaveStation cabinet, which provides public access to a lifesaving ZOLL AED. Attendees will also have an opportunity to see the cabinet and AED in action during a live demonstration. This is the first outdoor AED SaveStation Cabinet in all of Alaska!
The municipality chose the Nordic Stadium at Kincaid Park Stadium for the installation. Kincaid Park draws in athletes and outdoor enthusiasts of all stripes because of its large fields, wide trails, and beautiful views. It is a hub of activity year-round.
This location is especially meaningful as part of Project 100 and our shared commitment to protecting athletes and visitors across Alaska’s outdoor recreational spaces. Project 100 is an effort to outfit 100% of sports fields with access to an AED within 100 seconds and for 100% of coaches and athletes to be trained in CPR and how to use an AED.
The SaveStation at Kincaid park strengthens community preparedness and improves access to lifesaving resources. The goal is to help create safer outdoor environments and ensure that lifesaving technology is available when and where it is needed most.
“SaveStation is incredibly proud to partner with the Anchorage Fire Department and the Anchorage community to introduce the 1st Outdoor AED SaveStation in the state of Alaska,” said Matt McKeown, Head of Sales & Customer Experience at SaveStation. “This installation represents a significant milestone in expanding access to lifesaving technology in outdoor environments, where athletes, spectators, and community members gather. The Outdoor AED SaveStation is engineered to withstand challenging environmental conditions, helping protect the ZOLL AED while keeping this critical equipment accessible when every second matters.”
“PulsePoint is grateful to partner with organizations like ZOLL Medical and SaveStation, who provide lifesaving technologies key to cardiac arrest survival, and whose donations provided incentive to communities to register AEDs in the NEAR Registry,” said Shannon Smith, Vice President of Communications, PulsePoint Foundation. "We’re delighted to celebrate Anchorage as the AED contest winner and commend them for their exemplary, long-standing efforts to address cardiac arrest survivability in the community.”
“When sudden cardiac arrest strikes, having an AED nearby - and knowing where to find it - can make all the difference,” said Lori Peters, Associate Director of Advocacy & Partnerships, ZOLL Medical. “Through PulsePoint's National Emergency AED Registry (NEAR), Anchorage has shown what's possible when a community comes together to improve AED access. We're proud to partner with PulsePoint and SaveStation to build on that momentum, making lifesaving technology more accessible and giving everyday people the confidence to step in and help save a life. That's what our Anything Can Happen. Anyone Can Help.™ movement is all about.”
Anchorage won the SaveStation in last year’s PulsePoint automated external defibrillator (AED) registration contest. Out of every community in the United States, Anchorage registered the most AEDs per capita during the month of October 2025. In addition to the SaveStation, Anchorage also received five ZOLL AEDs for placement in our community.
Registering AEDs at AED.new helps build the National Emergency AED + Resource (NEAR) Registry, which catalogs the life-saving devices to alert the public and first responders to the location of an AED in relation to a patient experiencing cardiac arrest through PulsePoint.
